The CA for the 2025 edition of the Free State IV Public Speaking Tournament was Tshi Malatji, who was the top ranking Public Speaker after the preliminary rounds of the 2023 Pan African Universities Debate Championships (PAUDC) and ranked 4th in Public Speaking at the World Universities Debate Championships (WUDC).
FSIV 2025 used a unique public speaking format that focused on three judging criteria (content, delivery & structure) over two preliminary rounds (prepared and impromptu) before a final impromptu round.
FSIV 2025 also piloted new tabbing software for public speaking in the hopes of creating a new standard for tabbing Public Speaking across the African continent. The software will go through many updates, with plans to launch it again officially at FSIV 2026.
